‘Sean-nós’ meaning ‘old-style’ is an Irish traditional percussive dance. Sean-nós is a improvised, solo dance and acts as an extension to Irish traditional music.
Sibéal originally learned her sean-nós steps from her mother who is from Mayo in the west of Ireland. Sibéal has been perfecting her style and dancing sean-nós professionally for over 10 years.
Sibéal has taught workshops and performed with traditional musicians and bands at festivals and venues all over the world including UK, France, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, Spain, Russia, Japan and USA.
Here are two Youtube videos of Sibéal dancing on Glas Vegas with accordian player Cormac Murphy in 2009 and as one of the ‘Rubberbandettes’ with Emma O’Sullivan in the official music video for ‘I Wanna Fight Your Father’ (As Gaeilge) in 2011.
